My current projects...

So my current projects as of now are the following.. (maybe putting them here will force me to get them done..)

  • Finish kitchen ceiling.. back story to this.. 2 years ago mr.w and i were in Florida for a very nice vacation. When we came back home we walked into a very cold house (heater quit working in Feb in Minnesota.. not good) and a wet kitchen floor.. Well one of the pipes from our upstairs powder room had started leaking so in the process of diagnosing and fixing the problem a large portion of our kitchen ceiling got cut out and replaced.. we have now been living for the 2 years with a very patchy ceiling.. so my plans for the ceiling are.. Remove the popcorn texture, patch the joints and paint the ceiling.. which leads to the next thing on my To Do

  • Paint the kitchen.. Right now our kitchen is a dark maroon (was painted that way when we moved in 4.5 years ago..... we are sooooo quick on our projects.. ) and it gets really dark in there.. so I have the paint.. (was going to paint it shortly before the ceiling leaked and that project got put on hold..) which is a light blue.. However, I HATE my cabinets and being we have a 16 inch gap between the upper cabinets and ceiling.. which isn't enough room to decorate i would like to figure out the best way to fill in that space.. (and convincing mr.w it's a good thing.. he would do nothing to the house if he had it his way..)

  • Replace pantry door.. this is something that will hopefully get done sooner rather than later.. right now the door is a bi fold closet door that always pops off the track and like all the other doors on the main and upper floors.. flat and plain.. so the plan is the put hinges to make two doors and add some trim to give it depth as well as painting it and adding cute door knobs..

  • Finishing the little boykas bedroom. Which is being switched over to the slightly larger of the two rooms downstairs.. The list for that room is putting in hardwood flooring (pretty much free.. benefit of being married to a hardwood floor guy..) putting in new trim.. painting and then decorating.. (i have made their duvet covers and am in the process of their throw pillows.. which is more for my entertainment than theirs.. though i'm sure they will love extra pillows to throw around the room and at each other)

  • And finally for this list.. which will probably take 13 years to finish or will get done 3 weeks before we decide to move.. is finishing the rest of the basement.. Which includes finishing putting trim in the playroom. painting the playroom and the same in what is now the boykas bedroom which will hopefully turn into mr.w's playstation room and my craft room... or at least the playstation room.

Let's get started..

Well, let me try this blogging thing out.

To start.... I'm a mother to two wonderful, crazy, drive me nuts boys who are 2.5 and 1.5 right now. :) I love them more than anything. I'm a wife to an amazing man who makes sure I don't always go with my crazy ideas. I love to yell at my sewing machine while I sew, redo furniture, and build my own when I can't find something I like. I have plans to work on our for now home as we are living here though the wonderful man doesn't agree with some of those plans, or at least my timeline of those plans. (keeping me grounded?!??) I think I have finally figured out my style.. which right now is rustic/traditional/industrial though that can change.. one thing I do know is that it isn't very modern.

I guess my purpose of this blog is to share my life and projects as they get done. (which most of the time takes A LOT longer than they do in my head!!) but I have good intentions. I peruse Pinterest for most of my ideas and I will link back anything I do to original posts because even though I think I have some original ideas if I search I can normally find someone who has done it first.. Though not always in the style I had in my head the base of the ideas is the same and since I'm not one to steal things I'll show my way of doing things but always link back to the original (or where I found it...) ideas if they are there. I try to do things the cheap and easy way but to make things last as long as possible.
